Located in Knightsbridge, The Grill on Fifth is a cut above the rest.
Harrods. The green bags. The doormen in top hats. The sparkling lights that make it feel like Christmas every day. The department store is well worth visiting in its own right, but now there’s even more reason to go, thanks to The Grill on Fifth. The concept elevates the standard steakhouse, bringing prime cuts from around the world to the heart of London.
Dining in a department store always feels a little odd, especially if you’re visiting just for the food rather than the fashion. Harrods is already home to superb spots, from Somewhere to The Georgian. The food hall is the stuff that sweet dreams are made of. The official Dubai chocolate, Fix Chocolatier, recently opened a pop-up in the shop. So, it comes as no surprise to see that it is raising the stakes with its latest restaurant.

When we arrived at The Grill on Fifth, the staff offered us the choice of sitting indoors or outdoors. The steakhouse spans two floors and includes a rooftop overlooking the city. A retractable roof and heating keep the outdoor space comfortable. While service was on the slower side, the warm welcome made us feel as though we could relax in the refined setting.
The Grill on Fifth prides itself on its high-quality ingredients, premium cuts of meat and open-flame cooking. The carefully curated menu is a must for any meat lover. The list reads like a love letter to meat: fillet, flat iron, Kobe striploin, prime ribeye, T-bone and more. Steaks come from farms in Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The menu spans snacks, starters, grill, mains, sides, and desserts. Plus, a Sunday Roast menu is available on Sundays, featuring dishes ranging from British Rump and Braised Short Rib to Turkey Roast. By Knightsbridge standards, the prices are reasonable, with two sides for £15 and three sides for £22.

We started in style with a glass of Harrods’ Champagne – when in Harrods. With a hint of apple, it was easy to drink. We shared the British Beef Carpaccio starter, which was terrifically tender. Paired with mushrooms, parmesan, and shallots, it combined freshness with flair.
We don’t blame you for feeling indecisive when it comes to the mains. Talk to the team, and they are happy to help you find your perfect plate. Craving a cheeseburger? Order the Wagyu Smashed Cheeseburger. Vegetarian? Try the Roasted Cauliflower. And stuck? The Harrods Steakhouse Taster Board is available with a selection of meats.
We opted for the 300g Ribeye Steak and the Spatchcock Grilled Baby Chicken. The steak came perfectly cooked to our preference. The chicken proved a surprising success – most diners would probably choose beef over chicken. Cooked with lime, pistachio, and pomegranate, the bird was finished with a hot honey glaze that added a subtle sweetness. The Koffman Fries received an upgrade with truffle and parmesan, making them marvellously moreish.

Desserts range from classic to creative, from cheesecakes throughout the year to yule logs at Christmas. Meanwhile, the Basque Cheesecake won our hearts and forks, as we kept returning for mouthful after mouthful of the creamy dish paired with raspberry compote.
Drinks at The Grill on Fifth are an elegant experience. The list spans Champagne, red, white, and rosé wines, and extends to fine wines, dessert wines, classic cocktails, and non-alcoholic cocktails – and, of course, that Harrods’ Champagne. Harrods, you know how to put a sparkle in our glass and eye.
