Enjoy Shakespeare to Webber at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
The Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has unveiled its 2026 season, and it’s shaping up to be a celebration of music, mystery and midsummer magic. If you’re after some theatrical fun, here’s what you need to know.
The programme opens in May with Joel Horwood’s new play Sherlock Holmes. Running from 2 May to 6 June, it offers a fresh take on the legendary detective. Directed by Sean Holmes and led by Joshua James as Sherlock, the production explores the early partnership between Holmes and Watson as they’re drawn into a dangerous conspiracy they can’t quite escape.

Dance takes the spotlight next with A Life In Four Seasons. Running from 11 to 14 June, the show has been created by associate director Tinuke Craig and choreographed by Alexzandra Sarmiento. Set to a reimagined version of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, the piece follows three friends navigating love and loss in London.
At the heart of the season is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats. Announced last year, Drew McOnie’s production marks the first UK revival of the musical. It will run from 25 July to 12 September. Performed in the open air, the show adds a natural dimension to the world-famous play and its hit numbers, including "Memory."
Shakespeare returns to the open-air stage with A Midsummer Night’s Dream from 20 June to 18 July. Meanwhile, Anansi the Spider runs from 15 August to 6 September, and returns to the stage after its 2021 run.
Tickets for The Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre 2026 go on sale from 5 February.
