If you’re after some marvellous memories, then check out Cats at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in London. Running from 25 July to 12 September, it brings to life Andrew Lloyd Webber’s award-winning musical in a magical outdoor setting.

First staged in 1981 at the New London Theatre, Cats quickly became one of the West End’s most beloved productions. The musical is based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, a poetry collection by T.S. Eliot. The show features a score by Lloyd Webber and a cast of feline characters. T.S. Eliot wrote the poetry collection, and Lloyd Webber composed the score for the show, which features a cast of feline characters.

Cats

The original production starred Elaine Paige as Grizabella. The rendition of Memory became one of the most popular songs in musicals. The musical continues to attract famous faces, and the cast has included Brian Blessed, Sarah Brightman, and John Partridge. Cats at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre will be directed by Drew McOnie. Performed in the open air, the show adds a natural dimension, having already played in the West End. Drew is an Olivier Award-winning British theatre director and choreographer.

He is the Artistic Director and joint CEO of Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, as well as the founder of The McOnie Company. Over his career, he has won an Olivier Award for Best Theatre Choreography for his work on In the Heights. Plus, the UK Theatre Award for Best Director for The Artist.
