The Last Five Years runs for a limited run in March 2026.
American actress Rachel Zegler has made a name for herself on both stage and screen. Following a hit run in the title role of the musical Evita, she has announced a return to the stage. She will now star in The Last Five Years, which runs from 24 to 29 March 2026 at the London Palladium.
Rachel hails from New Jersey, United States. After Steven Spielberg launched an open casting call for his film West Side Story, she beat 30,000 hopefuls to win the role of Maria. Over the course of her career, she has starred in Disney’s Snow White and Shazam! Fury of the Gods. She also made her Broadway debut as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and received critical acclaim for her role in Evita.
The Last Five Years will run for a strictly limited engagement. The story follows the relationship between Cathy and Jamie, from their first meeting to their breakup. Rachel will be joined by Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award winner Ben Platt. The production will be staged by Lambert Jackson. The musical direction is by Leo Munby, and Emma Butler serves as associate director.
This production marks 25 years since The Last Five Years’ original premiere in Chicago. After debuting in 2001, the show transferred Off-Broadway in 2002. In 2014, it was adapted into a film starring Anna Kendrick. In 2021, it returned to London for a four-week run at the Garrick Theatre.
Jamie Lambert of Lambert Jackson said, “This beautiful show, which has touched so many people around the world, deserves this stellar cast for its 25th anniversary. Working once again with Jason Robert Brown – one of the greatest composers of our time – is a total privilege, and his continued trust in Lambert Jackson is something we’re immensely grateful for.”
