The café serves matcha, coffee, cold foam and much more.
King’s Cross just got a little greener with the arrival of frothee, a sleek new café on Caledonian Road dedicated to high-quality matcha. Open daily from 7am to 10pm, this stylish newcomer has already stirred up a buzz. On its opening day, a queue stretched down the street as the first 100 guests were treated to complimentary iced drinks.
The concept is the brainchild of 25-year-old Hanife, a London-based photographer and social media manager with Turkish roots, who launched the café with the support of her father. With a soft brown exterior and clean, modern interiors, frothee is designed to be as photogenic as it is functional—ideal for freelancers, students, and caffeine connoisseurs alike.
The drinks menu at frothee leans heavily into matcha, complemented by coffee, cold foam creations, and an assortment of sweet treats. Think Earl Grey buns, orange cream buns, and indulgent cookies made with miso chocolate or matcha and white chocolate.
With indoor and outdoor seating and generous opening hours, frothee is poised to become a go-to summer hangout. As they put it on Threads: “A frothee summer is pending.”
So far, the café has received glowing reviews online, with particular praise for the excellence of its matcha.
