Simpson’s in the Strand will feature two dining experiences.

Jeremy King is one of London’s leading restaurateurs. He was previously part of Corbin & King and was behind several hospitality successes, including Brasserie Zédel, The Delaunay, and The Wolseley. Now, he has announced that he will reopen Simpson’s in the Strand.

Simpson’s in the Strand is one of London’s iconic restaurants, but it has struggled to recapture its former glory. In 2017, it underwent a refurbishment, but it went up for auction last year. Now, Jeremy aims to create what he describes as a “big-theatre brasserie”.

The new Simpson’s s in the Strand will comprise two restaurants, two bars and a small ballroom for private events. The Grand Divan will be the more formal of the two, offering a traditional British dining experience with roasts carved at the table from antique silver-domed trolleys. The space will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The second restaurant will be Romano’s, which offers English dining with a continental flair.

In addition to the dining rooms, Simpson’s in the Strand will also house two bars – Simpson’s Bars and Nellies. Simpson's Bar will be open until 1am. There will also be a private ballroom for events, with seating for up to 100 guests.

He stated: "Some of us believe that restaurants are a form of theatre, and over on The Strand, we are happily engaged in a flurry of pre-opening preparations. Meanwhile, rehearsals are ramping up. Our carvers, who were cast for both knife and people skills, are sharpening their knives and trying on their toques. Our menus continue to be refined by executive chef David Stevens, while beverage director Sean Kelly continues his quest to stock our cellars with surprising wines and memorable spirits.”

Jeremy is currently working on a range of projects. In 2022, Corbin & King was taken over by the Minor Hotel Group. Minor Hotels is now working with the Wolseley Hospitality Group and is set to launch four new hotel brands. Meanwhile, the Colbert Collection is expected to open in the Middle East, although the exact location has yet to be confirmed.
