Thierry Laborde is behind Mazarine.
Get ready for some delicious news. As big fans of the FACT Award-winning La Petite Maison, we were thrilled to hear that its former chef is opening a new restaurant. Chef Thierry Laborde is behind the new concept, Mazarine, which will open in December in the heart of Mayfair.
London has no shortage of French restaurants, but La Petite Maison has proved popular across the globe. The brand has venues in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Mykonos, Riyadh, and London – and FACT has tried and tested these all. Chef Thierry also served as Head Chef at the legendary Le Gavroche. He will now collaborate with the team behind Sparrow Italian to bring Mazarine to life.
Set in Hanover Square, Mazarine will be located next to the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair. The concept draws inspiration from the South of France and its coastal cuisine. On its website, the tagline promises: “Your ocean escape awaits.”
The restaurant will offer a menu with a vibrant Mediterranean feel. Seafood takes centre stage, with highlights including the Croque Mazarine’s smoked eel croquettes; Filet de Boeuf with truffle sauce; Le Grand Aïoli Marseillais featuring salt cod, sea urchin, langoustines and seasonal vegetables; and Octopus Béarnaise with Raviole of Cornish Crab.
The Mandarin Oriental Mayfair’s dining scene has recently evolved, following the closure of Akira Back’s restaurants. It now features The Atrium Restaurant, Somssi by Jihun Kim, and the elegant Hanover Bar.
