The concept has been created by the MICHELIN Starred restaurant’s team.

FACT loves Gymkhana. Whether it’s the venue in London or Riyadh, we are big fans of the fine dining Indian restaurant. So, we were excited to hear that it is opening a new cocktail bar, 42 London. Scheduled to launch on 17 November, here’s what you need to know about the much-anticipated spot.

42 London will be located on Albemarle Street, and the name itself is inspired by Gymkhana’s address. The entrance will neighbour the restaurant, and it will be open in the evening until the early hours.

So far, we know that 42 London will have an Indian-inspired aesthetic. The only image that has been shared reveals an ornately carved door with the number 42 discreetly on a brass plaque. The interiors show a space that combines classic Indian design with contemporary touches, from a patterned wall to colourful modern art.

42 London has not yet revealed its menu, but if Gymkhana’s drinks menu is anything to go by, you’re in for delicious drinks. The drinks draw inspiration from Indian flavours and are inspired by the country’s history. For example, the Marwari Charger’s name comes from the rare Rajasthani horse, and the Pegu Club is a nod to the officer’s club in 1920s Burma.

Gymkhana was created by JKS and the Sethi siblings: Jyotin, Karam and Sunaina. The original restaurant opened in 2013 in London, and the second branch opened in 2023 in Riyadh. The London branch went on to win one MICHELIN Star and received critical and commercial success.
