The first all halal food court opens in London.

The Food District, a new global food court on Edgware Road, is now open for visitors to explore. From classic home-cooked recipes to contemporary creations, it hosts fifteen culinary legends. The experience brings together the perfect mix of vendors to form a truly global food court.

Spanning flavours from Turkey to Malaysia, this new food destination sets itself apart from traditional food courts. The experience offers an international outlook. Expect higher quality dishes, and unique flavours – all fully halal.

Brought to West London by food visionary Shaz Khan, in collaboration with landowners Criterion Capital, the food court is driven by a mission to bring the East to the West. Shaz Khan is the force behind the food courts 5 Continents in Stratford and Medz Corner in Kensington. The Food District is his most ambitious venture to date.

Vendors include: Ok Doner Kebab Point, a juicy Turkish kebabs and grill; Casa Street, which offers Moroccan classics with dishes inspired by Casablanca; and Okawari Sushi offering Japanese-Thai fusion-style dishes. Plus, The Taco House with French-Latin street food and Birria tacos; Rice and Roast for Malaysian-style duck and chicken served with fragrant rice; and Mirchi Bazaar for Lahori snacks and aromatic curries. You’ll also find gluten-free fish and chips, Wagyu burgers, Indian street food, and much more.

Omar Aziz, of Criterion Capital, said: “We’re proud to have worked closely with Shaz and his team to bring this innovative concept to Edgware Road. At Criterion, we’re passionate about curating high-quality, experiential spaces that engage both local communities and visitors, while driving economic vitality and growth. The Food District is a perfect example of what happens when great ideas meet the right location.”

Shaz Khan said: “Visitors want authentic street food in an environment that feels social, stylish, and inclusive. The Food District brings that vision to life - and Edgware Road was the perfect place to make it happen.”
