FACT is guilty of turning plates over in restaurants, and seeing where they are from. If you can relate, then you’ll be excited to hear about Akub in Notting Hill. The restaurant has launched an online shop to promote Palestinian suppliers and their products, which are used on the premises.

At Akub, the staff are often asked where the crockery comes from. So, the restaurant’s online shop launched a collection with nine stoneware pieces by ceramist Nur Minawi. The pieces have been handmade using traditional ceramic methods. There are asymmetric plates, espresso cups, glazed deep bowls, flat-rimmed plates, high-rimmed plates and more. Plus, terracotta bowls: dipping bowls, snack bowls and wide-rimmed deep bowls.

Visitors will also be able to visit Akub and buy one of nine Palestinian wines. The options include the restaurant's main supplier, Ashkar Winery. There are wines made with grapes from vineyards in Upper Galilee. The wines include Ashkar Doer, Ashkar Merlot, Ashkar Sauvignon Blanc, Nadim Cabernet Grand Reserve, Saint George Petit Syrah, and Saint George Pinot Noir.

Akub is also hosting a #CookForPalestine event on 5 and 12 February. Hosted by Fadi Kattan and Rasha Khouri Bruzzo, it takes place at the restaurant. The event is in aid of the conflict in Gaza, ad raises funds for Amos Trust, Anera and Medical Aid Palestine. The event includes a three-course meal, and tickets start from 150 per person. Plus, the restaurant is available for private hire.
