This marks the brand's first expansion outside of Scandinavia.
Get ready for some fancy fun, thanks to the Scandinavian restaurant, Punk Royale. Located in Mayfair, it is bringing caviar bumps to the capital. This marks the brand's first restaurant outside of Scandinavia, and it's scheduled to open in autumn 2025.
Punk Royale aims to be a reflection of its name and refers to itself as a brutal bistro. The tagline states: "Once upon a time, there was fine dining, then came Punk Royale". The concept first opened in Stockholm, and then later expanded to Copenhagen and Oslo.
The Punk Royale group were last in London with the pop-up Carousel. Now, the permanent venue for Punk Royale will be located at 6 Sackville Street, Piccadilly, inside an 18th-century building. The venues around the world are packed with personality. The sister venues include eye-catching colours, playful sculptures, and statement slogans on the wall. Plus, they originally banned phones in the restaurants – a move we are not sure if they are implementing in London.
The full menu for the restaurant has not yet been unveiled. When it hosted the Carousel pop-up, dishes included the Chawanmushi Tart, Green Curry Oyster, Foie Gras Au Torchon and Langoustine Nigiri. One of the signature dishes on Punk Royale's menu is the caviar bump, which has been on trend in the capital. This is when caviar is placed on your fist, and licked off the back of your hand with a shot of vodka.
