British super chef Jamie Oliver has made his mark around the world. Now, he is looking to London, and has announced that the Jamie Oliver Cookery School and Café will land in John Lewis. It will open on Oxford Street on 8 May, welcoming budding chefs and hungry diners.
John Lewis on Oxford Street has announced that it will be undergoing a refurbishment. As part of the £800 million four-year investment, the store will welcome Jamie Oliver Cookery School and Café. Spanning 4,600 square feet, it will have two classrooms and host 40 lessons.
Classes will cover different cuisines from around the world. Classes cover Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese and pasta-making. Look out for classes from chefs including Ben Tish, Calum Franklin and Noor Murad. Children will have access to free cooking classes, which will be available during the school holidays.
The full details of what Jamie Oliver Cookery School and Café will be serving have not yet been unveiled. The 50-seat café will showcase salads and focaccia sandwiches. The bread will be sourced from FACT Dining Award London nominee, The Dusty Knuckle. Plus, suppliers include meat from HG Walters, English sparkling wine from Liberty Wines, and sustainable fish from Stickleback.
Jamie hails from Essex, United Kingdom. He rose to fame through the TV series, The Naked Chef. In 2005, he started a campaign, Feed Me Better, which saw him introduce children to healthier school dinners. He has restaurants around the world, from Dubai to London. His restaurant brands include Chequer Lane, Jamie’s Italian, Jamie Oliver Kitchen and more. In 2023, Jamie opened his last restaurant in London, Catherine Street.
