Soho's cult Cantonese pub brings its signature blend of East meets West to a new riverside setting.
Marking ten years since it first opened its doors in Soho, Duck & Rice has launched a brand-new location inside the Turbine Hall of Battersea Power Station. While the original is best known as a lively Chinese pub nestled on Berwick Street, the Battersea edition is described as a "British pub and chop suey kitchen," complete with Cantonese classics, bold interiors, and plenty of character.
The new space is expansive, seating 185 guests and offering a very different atmosphere from the cosy confines of Soho. Designed by the acclaimed studio Macaulay Sinclair, the interiors draw inspiration from the cha chaan tengs and tea houses of South China, reimagined with a modern London edge. Think open-plan dining, a show-stopping open kitchen, and a raised central bar pouring draught beer, classic cocktails, and more.

While the design may be new, the culinary DNA remains the same. Expect signature plates such as the Cantonese house Roast Duck with Rice, alongside newcomers like Curry Soft-shell Crab and a comforting Lobster Laksa. There's also a nod to pan-Asian favourites with dishes like Vegetable Katsu Curry Rice.
The new Battersea site, located on Level One, adjacent to Control Room B, is poised to be a major draw for diners seeking a casual yet distinctive experience. Whether you're popping in for dim sum and a pint or staying for a full feast, Duck & Rice continues to strike that rare balance between old-school pub culture and elevated Chinese dining.

Battersea Power Station has undergone a major redevelopment. The station and the surrounding area have been transformed with love and a touch of luxe. The once-lost landmark of London is now home to world-class restaurants, residences and hotels. Plus, it opened its own London Underground station.
