The hospitality group Big Mamma has announced that it is launching Barbarella restaurant. Set to open in June, it will be located in the YY Building in Canary Wharf, London. The new restaurant will offer a retro-inspired experience, and will bring a touch of Italian nostalgia to life.
Barbarella in London will be taking over All Bar One's previous location. Located on the first floor, it will include an open kitchen and lounge. The site will be able to accommodate approximately 225 people. The design will draw inspiration from Italian cinema in the 1970s. The venue will include an ice-cream terrace, a large mirrored glass bar, and vintage Ferragamo silks everywhere.
While the full menu for Barbarella in London has not yet been unveiled, we know that it will offer Italian favourites. Head chef Marco Rastelli is behind the menu, including thin pizzas, One Metre long Spaghettone, Tomato Tatin with Parmigiano cream, and 1.2kg T-bone from Cornwall's Phillip Warren. The bar will be located upstairs and will offer a range of cocktails and vintage Italian wines. Sip Pistachio Espresso Martinis with an Insta-worthy view, or dig into gelatos on the terrace by the water and imagine it's the Amalfi Coast.
Big Mamma is behind a range of successful restaurants. The group's portfolio includes restaurants around the world in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Monaco, Spain and across the United Kingdom. In London, the restaurants include Ave Mario, Carlotta, Circolo Popolare, Gloria and Jacuzzi.
