The Qatar World Cup performer comes to the capital on 13 February.
Put your hands in the air if you love live music. The Belgian Moroccan performer DYSTINCT is heading to O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. The concert takes place on 13 February, and showcases his signature blend of Arabic beats and pop music.
DYSTINCT was raised in Mortsel, on the outskirts of Antwerp in Belgium. His real name is Iliass Mansouri, and he was born into a musical family. As his father was a singer, he would watch him perform. Despite this, his family were reluctant for him to pursue music as a career.
In 2017, DYSTINCT followed his dream and released his debut single No Ring Ring. The video has more than five million views on YouTube and over four million streams on Spotify. In 2021, he released his first album Mon Voyage. In 2023, he released his second album Layali. His songs include Habiba, Tek Tek, and Ya La Laa. Plus, he performed at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and his song Ghazali put him on the international stage.
DYSTINCT is famous for fusing together influences and collaborating with artists from around the world. He is inspired by his heritage, Moroccan sounds, and everything from afrobeats to kizomba music. Over his career, he has worked with names including Chawki, DJ Leska, Franglish, F1rstman and Zefanio.
Upcoming events at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire include Get it On on 19 January, Ryan Long on 20 January, xikers on 28 January, and Everglow on 30 January.
