Celebrate Arabic dance, film, literature, music and theatre.
Shubbak Festival 2025 is coming to London and is a celebration of Arabic creativity. Taking place across the capital from 23 May to 15 June , the event covers art, dance, film, literature, music and theatre. Whether you’re looking to listen to talks or take part in a workshop, there is a wide range of entertaining as well as insightful events.
Shubbak Festival is a biennial festival that showcases modern Arab culture and prides itself on showcasing new, unexpected voices. Shubbak means window in Arabic, and provides a window into Arabic culture. The festival celebrates the diversity of Arab artists and brings together local as well as international talent.

This year’s themes are based on connection, transformation, and finding joy in the midst of struggle. Shubbak 2025 aims to create a space that allows audience members to simultaneously feel hope and grieve together, in the company of real community. The hope is that through the varied forms of art, visitors will be able to heal, dream and resist as one.
The lineup includes some major names such as The Freedom Theatre (from Jenin), Dana Salah, Saliah and much more.
Arab and SWANA art has long been a tool for survival and creating spaces for solidarity, and Shubbak 2025 is no exception, taking the audience on a momentous journey.
Shubbak announced on their Instagram: “One big moment we’re really proud of is MILK مِلْك, a stunning visual performance by Khashabi Theatre (Palestine), which is part of our launch weekend on 24 and 25 May at the Southbank Centre. This is the largest Palestinian production to come to the UK in over 25 years, and we couldn’t be more honoured to share it with you."
Set the date in your calendars to make sure you don’t miss out on what promises to be a wonderful month of celebrating authentic Arab art and culture, with an important message at its heart.
Join the fun.
