Fashionistas, the show struts into town on October 2024.

It's time to frock and roll. The Devil Wears Prada, a new musical based on the hit film and novel, will strut into London's Dominion Theatre. Opening in October 2024, it will feature an original score by the legendary singer Elton John.

The Devil Wears Prada was written by Lauren Weisbeger, and is inspired by her time working as a personal assistant for American Vogue Editor, Anna Wintour. The novel was released in 2003, and was turned into a film in 2006. The book became a best-seller, and the film grossed more than $326 million worldwide and received two Academy Award nominations.

The musical tells the stylish story of Andy, who lands a job at the fashion magazine, Runway. As she works for Editor Miranda Priestly, she sacrifices her personal life to meet her boss's impossible demands. We are expecting designer costumes, catty lines and catchy songs.

The Devil Wears Prada has brought together a stellar team. Elton John has a long list of illustrious theatre work to his name. Over his career, he has sold more than 300 million records, and has performed in more than 80 countries. He composed music for Disney's The Lion King, and worked with Tim Rice on Aida. Plus, he has worked on Billy Elliot the Musical, Lestat and Tammy Faye.

The production includes lyrics by Shaina Taub, a book by Kate Wetherhead, and direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell. Plus, set design by Tim Hatley, and costume design by Gregg Barnes.

The Devil Wears Prada will first preview in summer 2024 at Theatre Royal Plymouth, and then opens at the West End in London from October 2024.
