The play is set to come to the West End in 2027.
The American filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has announced that he will be bringing a play to London's West End. This marks the director's first foray into the capital's theatre scene, and the world premiere is set to take place in 2027. Here's what we know.
Quentin appeared on the podcast The Church of Tarantino. He shared: "[The play] is all written. It is absolutely the next thing I'm going to do. We'll start the ball rolling on it in January. It's probably going to take up a year and a half to two years of my life."
"I'm having a great time with my kids and my family and everything, so let me just hang out with my family for the whole rest of the year, and then I'll more than likely move to England and bring my family with me and start working on the play."
Details about the Quentin Tarantino play are still under wraps. Audiences are currently unaware of the cast, characters, genre, or even the title of the play. On Bill Maher's podcast Club Random Podcast, he spoke about wanting to create a comedy. He explained: "I'm leaning more towards writing, or trying for a while, theatre. In a comedy play, the audience is a character in the room. When that works, that's an evening out, which is hard to capture on film."
Quentin was born in Tennessee, United States. He started his career with the film Reservoir Dogs. He has directed Django Unchained, Inglourious Basterds, Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Volume 2, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Pulp Fiction. He has won two Academy Awards, two BAFTA Awards, and four Golden Globes.
