The event will light up the January blues.
The Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival returns to London for its tenth edition, ready to brighten the dark days of January with a spectacular showcase of light and creativity. Running from 20 to 31 January, this year’s theme is Dreamscape, and it will feature works by a range of international artists.
The trail will take visitors on a captivating journey through a series of temporary light installations. Designed to lift the January blues, the festival transforms the area’s evening skyline into a glowing celebration of imagination and innovation. Many of the pieces are interactive, inviting visitors to get up close and experience the art in unexpected ways.

While the full line-up for 2026 is yet to be confirmed, previous highlights have included a pulsing tower of bathtubs by Benedikt Tolar, a fountain transformed into a sparkling pool, and a luminous bird in flight by Luminariste.
These new works will appear alongside Canary Wharf’s striking permanent light artworks. Notable examples include Camille Walala’s colourful tunnel and the red circular sculpture by Cubitt Steps Bridge. Plus, Julius Popp’s cascading display of digital words.

Throughout the trail, visitors can also enjoy sweet treats and hot drinks from pop-up stalls. For those looking to take a break, the area boasts a wide selection of bars, cafés, and restaurants. You may even catch the Canary Wharf Ice Rink, a seasonal favourite.
Canary Wharf Winter Lights is free to attend and open daily from 5pm to 10pm. Check in with FACT for more of the best things to do in London.
