Located in Enfield, Surf London offers experiences for beginners and pros.
When it comes to surfing, the image that comes to mind is long beaches and sunshine. Now, Surf London looks set to bring the waves to the capital. The new development will be located in the Lee Valley Leisure Complex, Enfield, and here’s what to expect.
The £60 million development is set to become a year-round leisure resort, spanning over 100 acres. Lee Valley Leisure Complex forms part of a 26-mile park that stretches across Essex, Hertfordshire, and London. Now, the area could welcome Surf London, which will be home to a 200-metre-wide surf lake.

The development will offer a range of experiences for both beginners and seasoned surfers. Beginners can ease in with 50cm waves, while experienced riders can tackle powerful two-metre waves.
Visitors can make a full day out of their trip to Surf London. There’ll be a lakeside café, boutique shopping stalls, and indoor fitness and wellness spaces. Plus, glamping-inspired accommodation will be built alongside the lake, which is ideal for an overnight stay.

Enfield Council has approved the development, which now awaits final sign-off from the Greater London Authority. If it gets the green light, construction could begin as early as next year. Plans also include free-to-access public spaces, discounted activities for local residents, and the creation of new job opportunities.
Hazel, from Crest Experiences, explained: “From the outset, our focus has been ensuring the benefits of Surf London extend directly to the local community.”
