The Museum of Illusions will open in May 2026.

London is about to get a little more magical. In May, the Museum of Illusions will open its doors on Tottenham Court Road, bringing family-friendly fun to the capital. If you'd like to have an entertaining day out, here's what you need to know.

The experience can already be found around the world, from Doha to Dubai. The concept spans around 70 locations, and now it is coming to London. Alongside firm favourite exhibitions, visitors can look forward to new experiences.

The Museum of Illusions will include a new Ghost Room, an eerie installation. Highlights also include gravity-defying exhibits, which make it look as though you’re scaling buildings. The Reversed Room is inspired by the capital’s history and landmarks. Plus, there’s a swirling vortex tunnel — a rotating passage designed to test your balance.

The whole experience invites visitors to get to grips with the scientific principles behind each illusion. In other words, you can have your fun and feel clever doing it.

Kim Schaefer, CEO of Museums of Illusions, said: “We are incredibly excited to bring the Museum of Illusions to the UK’s capital. London is one of the world’s most dynamic cultural and tourism destinations, making it the perfect home for our next opening.”
