The new theme park will open in Chessington World of Adventures.
Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios have collaborated to open Minecraft World at Chessington World of Adventures in 2027. The fully immersive theme park will feature rides, creator-led experiences and much more.
The £50 million project will include the first-ever Minecraft roller coaster, interactive attractions, and themed dining and retail areas. The real-world adaptation of the best-selling video game was officially unveiled during the Minecraft Live 2026 presentation. The highly anticipated attraction will be the first permanent theme park experience dedicated entirely to the Minecraft franchise.
Minecraft World will be the first major park inspired by Mojang’s video game phenomenon, but previous theme parks based on video games include Super Nintendo World parks across the world, and Universal Studios’ haunted houses based on the Five Nights at Freddy’s, Fallout, and The Last of Us.
The outstanding development aims to recreate the game’s iconic biomes, mobs, and items as physical attractions. Visitors can expect a world-first Minecraft roller coaster, interactive block-built playscapes, and more. Developed in close collaboration with pioneering Minecraft creators, the project is created to provide an authentic and immersive adventure for families and fans.

The final opening date for Minecraft World is yet to be announced.
