Take your sightseeing to new heights with a thrilling new way to float above the capital.

If you're one of the brave Londoners who get around the city via cable car, then this one's for you! The IFS Cloud Cable Car, which soars over the Thames between Greenwich Peninsula and the Royal Docks, has introduced two brand-new glass-floor cabins, giving thrill-seekers and curious commuters the chance to experience the city from a new vantage point.

Dubbed the 'Glass Floor Experience', this latest upgrade promises panoramic 360-degree views, not only of the skyline, but also directly beneath your feet. As you glide 90 metres above the water, the fully transparent floors offer an uninterrupted look at the city and the river below. It's an exhilarating twist on one of the capital's most unique forms of transport, and one that's sure to delight visitors and locals alike.

The journey spans 1.1km and takes around 10 to 15 minutes each way, departing from the Greenwich Peninsula terminal and looping over to the Royal Docks. Tickets for the glass-floor cabins are only available by pre-booking. Prices start at £25 for adults and £12.50 for children aged 5 to 15 during off-peak hours, rising to £35 and £17.50 respectively during weekends and school holidays. Each booking includes a return trip.

For those quick to plan, Transport for London (TfL) is offering 20 per cent off trips booked online between 23 June and 31 August using the promo code GFE20. Be warned, though: late cancellations won't be refunded.

If the thought of looking straight down into the Thames isn't quite your cup of tea, standard cabins remain available at £7 one-way (£13 return) for adults and £3.50 one-way (£6.50 return) for children.

Josh Crompton, TFL's Head of the IFS Cloud Cable Car, shared: "We asked customers what else they would like to see on the cable car, and one of the things was a glass-floor cabin. The plan is to keep them here for the foreseeable future and we may even add more. There is nowhere in the UK that has this, with a glass floor this high above London. The cable car has been one of London's leading attractions for more than a decade and is a much-loved landmark in the city's skyline. We're excited to offer this new experience to customers, extending the incredible views from the cabin even further thanks to the panoramic glass floor."

Formerly known as the Emirates Air Line, the cable car service has been part of London's transport network since 2012. Loved as much for its skyline views as its ease of travel, the addition of the new glass-floor cabins brings a fresh thrill to this well-trodden route.

London's skyline just got even more spectacular.
