The new venue will offer a BBQ dining experience.
London is a busy city. The new restaurant Soom hopes to offer a breath of fresh air and a moment to pause. Located in Covent Garden, it is scheduled to open soon and will showcase Korean cuisine.
In Korean, “soom” means breath or breathing, and the reminder that one needs to take a break. The name has been used in places that aim to offer peace, from yoga studios to art exhibitions. The restaurant aims to provide a calm escape from the hustle and bustle of London, offering a peaceful space where you can pause.
So far, Soom’s venue features an all-black exterior and signs indicating that it will be opening soon. The interiors look set to be muted and minimalist. The venue boasts shades of brown, black, and grey, alongside hints of bronze. It includes tiled grey walls and wooden panelling. Guests can choose between long banquettes and wooden seats.
Drawing inspiration from the Korean tradition of sharing plates, the experience will include grills on the tables. So, if you’re a fan of BBQs, roll up your sleeves and get ready to get stuck in.
The full menu for Soom has not yet been unveiled, but guests can expect a range of Korean dishes. Diners will be able to grill their own meat and vegetables to their liking. Plus, they can look forward to bowls and plates of meat, and condiments to season their dishes.
