The legendary club has welcomed jazz greats.
The sound of New York is landing in the capital. St Martins Lane Hotel is set to welcome Greenwich Village’s jazz club, Blue Note to London. Opening in 2026, the new bar will be located in the basement of the hotel in Covent Garden.
In 1981, Blue Note first opened and made a name for itself in New York. The venue boasts a rich history, and has welcomed emerging and established artists from around the world. Over the years, it has welcomed famous faces including Dizzy Gilliespie, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson, Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder.
Today, it has venues around the world, including Beijing, Los Angeles, Milan and New York. The venues have hosted everyone from Andre 3000 to Common. Now, it is finally opening in London.
Blue Note in London will accommodate up to 250 people in the main room, and 100 people in the second room. The venue will also serve dinner and drinks. The company recently received its licence from Westminster Council. The venue will be able to operate from Monday to Saturday until 1am, and on Sunday until 12am.
Steven Bensusan, President of Blue Note Entertainment Group, explained: “We’re excited to be coming to London and grateful to Westminster Council for recognising what Blue Note can bring to the city’s nightlife. As we prepare to open in early 2026, we’re looking forward to bringing world-class jazz and a deep cultural legacy to one of the greatest music cities in the world.”
