Join the stars at the one-off musical event.

Listen up. Monkey Shoulder Records will open a pop-up listening bar at KEF Music Gallery in Soho, London. Opening for one day only on 17 June, it brings together dance DJ Arthi, grime DJ Target, and dubstep star Katy B.

To celebrate World Music Day, which takes place on 21 June, Monkey Shoulder Whisky has created the listening experience. The atmosphere blends together the vibes of an old-school record store and listening bar. Expect state-of-the-art audio technology, cocktails and stars.

KEF Music Gallery is decked out with high-fidelity architectural speakers, MUON loudspeakers and subwoofers. Seven vinyl shops have helped curate the record collection. The music includes electronic beats, hip-hop, and grime. Plus, Monkey Shoulder has crafted whisky cocktails to pair with the records and pays homage to different musical genres.

Katy B rose to fame in the early 2010s, making a major impact with her debut album On a Mission, featuring club anthems like “Katy on a Mission,” “Lights On” featuring Ms. Dynamite, and “Broken Record.” Her follow-up album Little Red delivered more dancefloor hits, including “Crying for No Reason” and “5 AM.”

Katy B said: “Searching through and selecting my top ten Monkey Shoulder Records inspired me to write a new song ahead of my upcoming album! In my vinyl crate, I’ve chosen songs that are meant for the club (my happy place) but also ones that have a rich, sonic experience.”

DJ Target is best known for his work as a presenter on BBC Radio 1Xtra, where he champions emerging talent across genres like grime, hip-hop, R&B, and UK garage. A founding member of the influential collective Roll Deep, he helped shape the early grime movement before transitioning to radio.

DJ Target added: “Concepts and spaces like Monkey Shoulder Records showcase the pleasure of listening to vinyl – and I’m here for it. Through DJ-ing, I have a vinyl background, and you really can’t beat finding your perfect record, taking it out of the sleeve, and placing it on your turntable. Just hearing that little crackle at the start of the track gives me goosebumps.”

The sessions take place hourly from 12.30pm to 5.30pm.
