The Lost in London experience will take over Odeon Covent Garden.
Secret Cinema has made its mark in London as an exciting immersive experience, which brings to life the sights and sounds of film. Now, the events team are creating a new nightlife venue in London, Lost. The concept brings disused buildings to life, and transforms them with performance, movies and nightlife.
The opening date for Lost in London has not yet been confirmed – all we know is that it will be opening soon. The latest project will take over the Odeon Covent Garden on Shaftesbury Avenue. In 1931, the venue opened as the Saville Theatre, and it boasts a rich cultural history. It once hosted legendary acts including The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones. In 1970, it was later converted into a cinema. In 2000, became an Odeon cinema.
Lost aims to breathe new life into the building and attract artists as well as audiences. Part of Lost’s mission is to reclaim forgotten spaces and turn them into artistic playgrounds. The posts on social media have already begun building anticipation. On Instagram, there are teasing posts, which state the words “coming soon” and “improvisation”.
If you’re looking for an idea of what to expect, Lost has already hosted a secret event with Miley Cyrus in London, presented a film screening with the director Wim Wenders, and live gigs by artists including Reggie Watts.
In 2007, Secret Cinema started, and was founded by Fabien Riggall. The aim was to revolutionise the traditional cinema experience. The concept combined film screenings with immersive, live performances in secret locations. The experiences have ranged from Blade Runner to Star Wars.
