Upstairs at Ronnie’s will be located on the first floor of the original venue.
Ronnie Scott’s has long made its mark on London’s nightlife scene. The iconic venue has welcomed musical legends from the world of jazz, including Amy Winehouse and Nina Simone. Now, it has announced an exciting expansion – the launch of Upstairs at Ronnie’s in Soho.
Scheduled to open in February 2026, Upstairs at Ronnie’s will be located on the first floor of Ronnie Scott’s. While the space has previously hosted live events, it was recently closed for refurbishment.
Upstairs at Ronnie’s will reopen as a new club with a new look. The redesigned space will feature a cosy auditorium, dim lighting, sultry reds, elegant gold accents, and dark wood finishes. The acoustics will be state-of-the-art, with high-spec Yamaha and D&B Audio sound and lighting systems, as well as a Yamaha S3X Grand Piano.
The venue will also offer a food and drink menu. Executive Chef Steven Connolly will lead the kitchen, serving up bar bites and beverages to enjoy alongside the music.
The programme will bring together jazz and jazz-adjacent acts, with a diverse mix of genres including classical, gospel, hip-hop, R&B and world music. The venue will also host its own version of Ronnie Scott’s Late Late Show and showcase new talent.
In 1959, Ronnie Scott’s opened, and it was first located in the basement of Gerrard Street, Soho. Today, it can be found on Frith Street, and it is one of the leading jazz venues in the world. Over the years, it has welcomed Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis.
