Cocktails will be finished with a red-hot poker.
A cool new cocktail bar is coming to Old Street. FlipDog will open in March 2026 and promises to bring inventive drinks with Instagram flair. So much so, that the concept includes cocktails finished with a red-hot poker.
Using the traditional Loggerhead method, the red-hot iron is plunged directly into the drink to caramelise sugars and intensify flavour. The result is a mix of aromas and textures, and, of course, super social content that is sure to captivate audiences.
Behind the project are the Ukrainian founders, Artem Skapenko and Alex Kostenyuk. The pair are well-versed in pushing cocktail boundaries. Artem co-owns some of Ukraine's most famous bars, including HRAM and Loggerhead in Kyiv, and Mad House in Lviv. Kostenyuk is a leading hospitality entrepreneur and partner behind a range of Eastern European bar concepts. Heading up the FlipDog bar is Igor Brovko. He has previously worked at the FACT Dining Award nominated, Tayēr + Elementary.
The site will span two floors, each offering a distinct experience. The interiors will be designed by the Kyiv-based design studio, YOD Group. On the ground floor is a 20-seat space, which will evolve through collaborations and a changing drinks menu.
In the basement, there will be an 80-seat bar with a refined setting that showcases the mixologist’s skills. Plus, the food menu will include seasonal small plates and larger dishes, drawing on Asian and Eastern European influences and reworked through a contemporary lens.
