Cavendish Square Gardens will have a multi-million-pound transformation.
Cavendish Square Gardens is set to undergo a major transformation in the new year, becoming the world’s first mixed-use development specifically for the health and wellbeing industry. Reef Group is keen to redesign the popular space, and holds a budget of approximately £3 million.
Built in 1717, the quaint park in the West End has provided a space of calm for office workers, shoppers and tourists since it officially opened to the public in the 1970s. Today, the new designs for the square are finally coming to fruition, as Westminster City Council has secured the land for the developers.

The gardens near Oxford Circus are set to change entirely. The development will be set over four levels beneath the existing historic gardens, totalling 280,000 square feet, with floors of up to 80,000 square feet. The square will have entrances on Harley Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street, providing unparalleled access to key tourist hubs in London.
Reef Group has promised to spend £3 million on upgrading the gardens, with plans to double the number of pedestrian pathways, install a new water feature, integrate fresh planting and build new entrances to the park. Also included are a new pedestrian crossing linking the square to Holles Street and Oxford Street, a two-metre-high railing around the gardens, and 50 additional bike parking spaces.
The developers also want to convert the existing underground car park beneath the square into a subterranean health facility, which was approved in 2022.
