The Egyptian-Canadian label has launched a private hotel and creative residence above its East London flagship, offering no-cost stays for MENA creatives in the city.
Fashion brands love a hotel moment, but Kotn is taking a different route. The Egyptian-Canadian clothing label has opened Beit Kotn, a private hotel and creative residence in Shoreditch, London, designed as a home base for artists, designers, writers and cultural thinkers from the Middle East and North Africa.
Named after the Arabic word for home, Beit Kotn translates to “Kotn’s House”, and the idea is rooted in a familiar phrase across the region: my house is your house. Instead of a paid stay and polished concierge, the concept leans into generosity and community, with the brand positioning the space as a place to live, work and connect without the usual transactional pressure.

The headline detail is simple: it’s free. Creatives from the MENA region who are in London can request a stay via an online portal, sharing what they’re working on before being offered access based on availability, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Beit Kotn sits above Kotn’s London flagship in Shoreditch, with private bedrooms alongside shared living spaces designed for conversation, collaboration and cultural exchange. Think of it less as a hotel stay and more as a lived-in guesthouse, where the boundaries between studio, sanctuary and social space are intentionally blurred.

Interiors are designed by Nour Fakhrany of Copenhagen-based Spacon Studio, drawing on the textures and mood of 19th- and early 20th-century Cairo homes and translating that warmth into an East London setting.
As co-founder and CEO, Rami Helali puts it: “For us, this is not a clothing brand moving into hospitality. KOTN has always been about community first. Over the years, we built a global creative community that moves between cities. What was missing was a space that felt rooted in our culture, not just aesthetically but philosophically.”
London is only the beginning. Kotn is already planning a larger-scale Beit Kotn concept in Cairo, due to open in 2027.
