It will mark the brand’s third property in the region.

Manchester’s skyline is about to welcome a fresh face in five-star hospitality, as InterContinental Manchester – Deansgate gears up for a grand debut in 2027. Occupying a prime position on one of the city’s most storied streets, this highly anticipated opening marks the brand’s third property across the UK and Ireland, but its first in Manchester.

Nestled within the Beetham Tower, Manchester’s landmark 47-storey high-rise, the hotel will span 22 floors and offer 264 newly refurbished rooms. Expect sweeping views across the city, coupled with the signature polish and international flair the InterContinental name is known for.

On the culinary front, the ground-floor ‘podium’ restaurant and bar will anchor the experience with vibrant yet sophisticated dining. Additional venues are in development, all designed to celebrate Manchester’s dynamic food culture, though exact details remain under wraps for now.

Wellness also takes centre stage, with a suite of premium facilities, including an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and state-of-the-art fitness centre, designed to appeal to both business and leisure travellers.

The timing couldn’t be better. According to VisitBritain, the UK saw a record 512,000 visits from GCC travellers in the first half of 2024 alone, spending over £1 billion. With the region becoming an increasingly important market for luxury tourism, the arrival of InterContinental Manchester – Deansgate further positions the city as a destination of choice.

Joining the likes of InterContinental London Park Lane and InterContinental Dublin, the Manchester opening is set to elevate IHG’s luxury presence in the UK, which already includes more than 360 hotels in operation.
