The transformation will be documented on Disney+.

Comedian and recent Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr has purchased a Scottish castle, which will see a major makeover. Carr plans to turn it into a luxury hotel and spa, with the process being documented on Disney+, produced by the same team behind the ever-popular Clarkson’s Farm.

The television comedian recently purchased Ayton Castle, in the Scottish Borders, for £3.25 million. The 19th-century house, which has 17 bedrooms, sits on 160 acres of land. It also has its own 600-meter-long miniature railway line, with platforms, sheds and a ticket office, that runs throughout the impressive grounds.

Alan Carr Scottish Castle

Disney+ will follow Alan Carr on his journey as he renovates the beautiful Scottish castle into a luxury hotel. The Hulu Original series has a working title of ‘Castle Man’, in reference to his former Channel 4 talk show Chatty Man.

About the purchase and the process, Alan Carr said: “Some men when they have a midlife crisis buy a Lamborghini or grow a ponytail, but me – I want my very own castle. Since I was a boy in Northampton, I’ve always dreamt big, and have always been enchanted with the history and romance of a stately home and as I turn 50, I feel it’s my time. All I want is a turret to call my own – get me over that drawbridge!”

Alan Carr is an English comedian, broadcaster, writer, and television personality. He is best known and loved for his charisma, witty humour and unserious outlook on life. His career breakthrough came in 2001, when he won the City Life Best Newcomer of the Year and the BBC New Comedy Awards. He has won three British Comedy Awards, two National Television Awards, and a BAFTA TV Award.

Timings for the filming and airing of 'Castle Man' on Disney+ are yet to be released, but check in with FACT for the latest updates.
