The lifestyle hotel brand expands its capital portfolio with a waterfront property featuring its first rooftop restaurant and bar in London.

Locke is continuing its expansion across the capital with the launch of Locke London Canary Wharf, which is set to open this May as the lifestyle hotel brand’s sixth property in London. Positioned on the waterfront, the new opening will bring 279 bedrooms and suites to one of the city’s fastest-evolving districts, adding another design-led stay to an area that has steadily grown beyond its business roots.

Set across 19 floors, Locke London Canary Wharf has been conceived as more than just a place to sleep. In keeping with the brand’s modern hospitality approach, the property has been designed to balance comfort, flexibility and community, creating a destination that appeals to business travellers, city breakers and longer-stay guests alike.

The interiors have been created by London and Hong Kong-based studio Holloway Li, with a look that blends contemporary polish with a light mid-century influence. The design direction feels fresh and considered, giving the new property a distinct identity while staying true to Locke’s established aesthetic. Accommodation options range from a city studio with river views to an accessible one-bedroom open-plan suite, offering guests a choice of layouts suited to different styles of stay.

One of the biggest draws will be Locke’s first rooftop restaurant and bar, located on the 19th floor. Opening later this year, the elevated venue is expected to make the most of longer days and warmer weather, pairing skyline views with a more social food and drink offering. On the ground floor, the lobby will serve as a multi-functional hub, complete with communal spaces and an on-site café serving coffee and pastries.

Alastair Thomann, chief executive at Edyn, the group behind Locke, said: “The opening of Locke London Canary Wharf marks an important addition to our portfolio. The property delivers high-end design, versatile communal spaces and our new rooftop restaurant and bar concept. As Canary Wharf continues to grow as a residential, leisure and business destination, we look forward to welcoming guests to a property that reflects both its character and ambition.”

The opening arrives three years after Locke’s previous London launch, Ember Locke in Kensington. Alongside its London addresses in Aldgate, Tower Bridge, Millennium Bridge and Bermondsey, the brand also has regional properties in Cambridge, Edinburgh and Manchester.
