VE/LA will open in the heart of Mayfair.
Londoners love a good cup of coffee, and now the Thai favourite is coming to the United Kingdom. VE/LA is opening in Mayfair, London, and here’s how to get your hands on the hot stuff.
Founder Pete Kasidit is behind VE/LA. The idea was sparked during the Covid-19 pandemic. With his exams cancelled, he imagined a space where people like him could meet and share ideas. The concept was to showcase specialty coffee in Bangkok in a way that was intuitive, welcoming, and approachable.
The name VE/LA comes from the Thai word for time, and it was chosen after he watched the New Year’s Eve fireworks and was contemplating his future. The concept behind the menu came in the form of Dawn and Dusk – two coffees tied to feeling rather than technical terms. Dawn is bright and fruity, while Dusk is gentle and comforting.
The coffee bar opened in Bangkok in March 2021, and soon queues snaked out the door and it attracted a firm following. From a single corner, VE/LA has grown into cafes, studios, and a home collection of coffee, matcha, and tea – all rooted in craft, care, and shared moments.
Now, VE/LA is making its UK debut in London. On Instagram, the brand shared images of London, with one post reading: “A new chapter, a new city. London, see you in a bit. Soft opening soon in the heart of Mayfair – the wait is almost over.”
