The FACT Dining Award nominee expands with a bistro and shop.

FACT Dining Award London nominee, The Sea, The Sea, is expanding with a bistro and shop. On 29 May 2026, the team behind the original concept will open the new ventures. Located on Pavilion Road in Chelsea, it will add to the area's neighbourhood charm.

The Sea, The Sea is a firm favourite among locals and FACT. Founder Alex Hunter is behind the restaurant and has developed this new concept to expand the business. By day, guests can shop and grab food to go. By night, it will transform into a restaurant. The new space will boast a large retail offering, including house-aged fish, shellfish and fresh catches of the day. Plus, there will be a seaweed counter, and FOMO-inducing lunch boxes – we're talking sashimi sets and shellfish rolls.

In the evening, you can be one of 10 guests at the seafood bar. Dishes will range from Singapore Chilli Crab to Miso Black Cod. Upstairs, the 40-cover bistro will offer more room to settle in and savour the atmosphere.

Head Chef Nick Marsden, who has previously worked at Dovetale, Pitt Cue and The Laughing Heart, will create the menu. The food will celebrate the sea, featuring dishes including Confit Sea Trout with white asparagus and mustard greens; Grilled Half Cornish Lobster with vin jaune sabayon and brown butter; Smoked Eel Consommé with horseradish; and Oysters with cucumber and apple vinaigrette.

Desserts include unexpected flavours. Take your pick from Potato Ice Cream with preserved spruce and smoked eel, or Chocolate Crémeux with blackberry and Assam pepper. Drinks will also draw inspiration from the sea, with white wines, orange wines and sake.

Alex explained: “It’s been an incredible and rewarding seven years seeing the response to The Sea, The Sea, and now being able to expand the business with this exciting new chapter. I love being in Chelsea, and when the opportunity came along to open a larger site on Pavilion Road, it felt like the perfect fit. The Sea, The Sea has always been a stage to showcase our talented team and our ethos of working with ethically sourced seafood direct from the best small boats around our shores.
