The Japanese concept showcases handrolls.
If you’re a fan of Japanese food, we have some tasty news. Temaki is making its way from Brixton to Mayfair. In February, the restaurant will open on Maddox Street, London, bringing its much-loved handrolls to the heart of the capital.
After opening in Brixton in 2021, Temaki quickly built a loyal following. The restaurant closed its doors in 2025 and began the search for a new home. Now, it is ready to reopen in Mayfair.
The new Mayfair outpost will be larger than the original. The venue will include a 16-seat counter upstairs and a 28-seat space downstairs. Plus, the aesthetic will draw inspiration from Japanese listening bars.
Founder A M Dupee said: “We’ve been working on some fun new dishes and will, of course, be serving our signature handrolls – I can’t wait to open the doors.”

Temaki takes its name from a popular style of Japanese sushi. Drawing inspiration from Californian handroll bars, the restaurant offers a modern twist on the tradition. The menu will focus on handrolls, including Grilled Mackerel with ginger and miso sauce; Lobster with egg yolk, miso and citrus; and Prawn Tempura with otoro tuna and teriyaki mushroom.

Set menus will also be available, offering a curated selection of handrolls such as Akami Tuna, BBQ Eel, and Trout. Beyond handrolls, the menu will feature A4 Wagyu Sliders, Sashimi, Crispy Rice topped with premium cuts of fish, and sandos.
The drinks menu includes saké, saké flights and cocktails. Highlights include a Pineapple Rum Punch, a Sansho Peppercorn Gimlet and the Temaki Highball.
