Tavern is set to open in Shoreditch.

Tavern is set to open in Shoreditch. Created by the team behind Nest and Restaurant St Barts, it will be located on the former site of Nest. Here’s what to expect from the British bistro.

After nine years, Nest is set to relaunch as Tavern, and it looks set to be an exciting change. Tavern is co-founded by Johnnie Crowe, who will also be at the helm of the kitchen. The new concept is described as a British bistro with comforting and celebratory food. The kitchen also includes Head Chef Kirsty Easterbrook, who was previously the Sous Chef at Restaurant St Barts, and Executive Chef Brendan Appleby, who was previously the Head Chef at Restaurant St Barts.

The full menu at Tavern has not yet been unveiled. So far, we know that it will include Barbecued Cuttlefish, Brixham turbot, chunion puff, and Hogget Scrumpets with mint.

If you are feeling sad about Nest, make sure to visit before 29 March. The kitchen will still be serving its set menu. The dishes will celebrate the last nine years and include a range of favourites. Choose from BBQ-aged duck, catch of the day, duck bone broth, and more.

The Nest team shared: “We are sad we cannot make the numbers work, but incredibly grateful for the amazing memories, guests and friends we have made along the way. We would love to see as many of you as possible before the end of March.”
