Khao-Sō-i will open in November.

Khao-Sō-i has made its way from Thailand to London, bringing the taste of the country to the capital. Scheduled to open in November, it will be located in Market Place and showcase Northern Thai food. If you’re looking for a new spot to visit, then put this on your restaurant radar.

Khao-Sō-i takes its name from a curry noodle soup served in Thailand. The menu focuses on deep, aromatic broths, springy fresh noodles and crisp nests that crown bowls of slow-braised beef, chicken or prawn. The brand’s minimalist dining rooms keep attention on the craft, while seasonal specials spotlight premium cuts and regional condiments. With locations in Chiang Mai and Bangkok, including Siam Paragon and Soi Convent in Silom, the brand draws fans for its consistency and value.

The full menu has not yet been unveiled, but videos on its site showcase an exciting range of dishes. The images show hot noodles being cooked, soup being poured into bowls and pieces of beef being picked up with chopsticks.

The signature dish is the Khao Soi, a coconut curry soup. The dish is famous for its rich, creamy coconut-based broth. The dish comes with egg noodles and crispy fried noodles on top. The menu will span small and large plates. Other dishes include  Larb Kua, which is a spicy stir-fry; Tam Khanun, which is jackfruit salad; and Sai Ua.

Khao-Sō-i is no stranger to London. The concept previously ran as a pop-up in Patara, and is now opening a permanent spot in the location that was once owned by EL&N Café.  Diners can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere and traditional Thai decor.
