The concepts include Brasserie Angelica and Gambit Bar.

The Newman Hotel is set to open on 1 February 2026 in Fitzrovia, London. It has now announced the bar and restaurant opening within the hotel: Brasserie Angelica and Gambit Bar.

At the heart of The Newman Hotel is Brasserie Angelica, an all-day dining restaurant that will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There will also be a pre-theatre menu and a Sunday roast menu.

Brasserie Angelica will be filled with natural light and features a side terrace and its own bar. The menu will focus on European dishes, live-fire cooking and fresh, seasonal ingredients. Forget about a dessert trolley – here, at lunchtime, there will be a sandwich trolley.

The signature breakfast is Angelica’s Breakfast, which includes either an English or a Vegetarian Breakfast. The dish comes with two eggs, black pudding, baked beans and more, and there will be a range of additional egg dishes.

Starters include Beetroot and Horseradish Soup, Mushroom Dumplings and Winter Endive Salad. Mains include Buttermilk-Fried Haddock, Confit Duck Leg, and Roast Chicken. Drinks range from Beyond the Smoke, made with Johnnie Walker, ginger and orange, to Mind Wall, with Ketel One vodka, mint and pink grapefruit.

Gambit Bar will be an underground venue offering events ranging from an in-house DJ to chess nights. Drinks will include crafted cocktails, craft beers and small sharing plates.

The design of Gambit Bar will combine an Art Deco aesthetic with inspiration drawn from the local area. In particular, it will reflect the avant-garde art movement Vorticism, led by Wyndham Lewis, which had strong ties to Fitzrovia.
