The restaurant is a joint venture between Anthony Demetre and The Lunar Pub Company.
The Elizabeth, a new project from Hubert Beatson-Hird of The Lunar Pub Company and Culinary Director Anthony Demetre, is set to open in Belgravia on 16 September. As Beatson-Hird marks fifteen years of hospitality in West London, this launch signals an evolution of his neighbourhood-first approach, matched with Demetre’s fine-tuned cooking and seasonal sensibilities.
Set on the corner of Ebury Street and Elizabeth Street, the restaurant occupies a Grade II listed Victorian townhouse that nods to its royal neighbours, such as Buckingham Palace. Inside, the layout is intimate and considered. There are 52 covers across three conjoined spaces, a lively entrance bar that flows into the main dining room, and a separate private dining room with 36 seats dressed in rich burgundy and green banquettes. A 12-seat terrace brings an alfresco option to one of London’s most charming corners.
Anthony Demetre is a familiar name to London diners. After founding Arbutus in Soho in 2006, he helped popularise seasonal all-day dining, a movement often described as bistronomy. His current restaurant, Wild Honey St. James, opened in 2019 and has held a Michelin star from 2022 to 2025. His style blends British produce with French technique, with a reputation for elevating classics such as Pheasant Terrine and Custard Tart.
At The Elizabeth, Demetre and Chef David Halewood have shaped a menu that celebrates British bistro cooking. Starters include Whipped Cod’s Roe and a Fish Cake with Bouillabaisse sauce. Mains feature Cornish Sea Bream with warm tomato and basil vinaigrette, Slow-cooked Duck Confit, and Roast Young Chicken lacquered with lemon and honey. Desserts keep things comforting. Look for a selection of British and Irish cheeses, Cherries with Jersey Milk Ice Cream, Chocolate Mousse, Rum Baba and Strawberry Panna Cotta.
Drinks bring a playful edge to the classics. Signature serves include an Axia Watermelon Spritz, a Porto Tonico, and the Huntress Negroni, with a wine list of Old and New World favourites supplied by Liberty Wines.
Commenting on the opening, founder Hubert Beatson-Hird said: “After three wonderful years of Ganymede, we wanted to reimagine our beloved Belgravia site to reflect the fast-changing hospitality environment. When the opportunity to work with Anthony emerged, the choice became a no-brainer to work together to create a modern take on British hospitality and gastronomy”.
