Elegant eats to an eagle statue – here’s what’s landing at the former United States Embassy.
London is set to welcome a luxurious new hotel, The Chancery Rosewood. Located in Grosvenor Square on the former site of the United States Embassy, it is scheduled to open in September 2025. The hotel will be home to an exciting range of restaurants and bars, covering a diverse mix of cuisines and concepts.
Carbone
Carbone pays homage to the timeless charm of Italian-American restaurants. Created by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick, the original New York outpost is popular with A-list diners – guests have included Adele, Barack Obama, Jennifer Lopez, the Kardashians, and now you. With locations spanning from New York to Riyadh, it is now making its way to The Chancery Rosewood. The London menu will be a love letter to Italian-American cuisine, and the signature Spicy Rigatoni deserves every bit of acclaim it receives.

Eagle Bar
The eagle has certainly landed. The bald eagle, the national bird of the United States, is famously featured on American currency, passports, and the Great Seal. Opening on 1 September, Eagle Bar offers rooftop views from an angle rarely seen in London. The venue will also serve as a listening bar. It also features the original eagle sculpture from the building’s embassy days, naturally.

GSQ
GSQ brings a relaxed yet refined deli experience to The Chancery Rosewood. The menu features Assembly coffee, fresh pastries, salads, and sandwiches. The light, airy space is styled with cream chairs, walls, and lamps, contrasted by green banquettes and potted plants. There’s also a charming outdoor terrace overlooking Grosvenor Square.

Jaqueline
The Chancery Rosewood will welcome Jaqueline on 1 September. It doesn’t just have the name of the former First Lady of the United States, it also has the style. The tearoom is exquisitely elegant and bathed in a golden glow. The space shimmers, and has carefully curated its fine cutlery, cups and teapots. The dessert selection has been created by renowned pastry chef Marius Dufay, who has worked in kitchens in Paris.

Le Caprice
The rumour mill has been in overdrive, with speculation that Richard Caring’s Le Caprice will open at The Chancery Rosewood. The modern European restaurant was originally located in St James’s. Speaking on the revival, Jeremy King said: “I want it to be chic, comfortable and classic. I think it’s fabulous to mix the old and the new – both in style, customers, and in food.”

Serra
Serra brings Mediterranean cuisine into the spotlight. The new restaurant is led by Chef de Cuisine Alex Povall, who was formerly Executive Chef at FACT Dining Awards London nominee Berenjak in Soho. Serra will serve mezze platters, grilled seafood, and handmade pastas. Embracing a relaxed, family-style approach, the experience is designed around generous sharing plates and the laidback luxury of the Med.

Tobi Masa
Chef Masa Takayama was born in Tochigi, Japan, where his parents owned and operated a catering business. As a child, he began helping out – even learning to cut fish. In the 1980s, he opened a restaurant in Los Angeles, United States, and counted Marlon Brando among his celebrity clientele. Now, he brings his culinary artistry to London with Tobi Masa, offering a refined omakase experience. The venue will feature an omakase counter, main dining room, and a dedicated bar. Dishes include Masa Toro Tartare, Peking Duck Tacos, and Surimi Masa Pasta.

Rosewood’s second London hotel will also feature 139 elegantly appointed rooms, six retail spaces, a state-of-the-art spa, and a grand ballroom capable of hosting up to 750 guests.
