The special menu celebrates The Seafood Restaurant’s 50th anniversary.
Fortnum & Mason and British chef Rick Stein are teaming up to create a culinary event. The event celebrates The Seafood Restaurant’s 50th anniversary. Running from 5 June to 5 August 2025, it takes place at The Royal Exchange.
Two British greats have come together for a special occasion. Diners have the chance to indulge in a menu of Rick’s classics, which showcase simple, seasonal dishes. The menu draws on the chef’s stories and signature dishes, and it is paired with Fortnum & Mason’s wines.

The Rick Steins dishes at Fortnum & Mason include Fish and Shellfish Soup, Grilled Cornish Lobster served with fine herbs, Hot Shellfish with parsley, chilli, olive oil, garlic and lemon, and Turbot with hollandaise sauce. Plus, the dessert includes Chocolate Fondant.
Fortnum & Mason’s Executive Chef Julien Lancrume will also showcase a seafood menu. Dishes include English asparagus with herb vinaigrette, Portland-dressed crab, and a Royal Exchange Caviar trolley.
The Seafood Restaurant can be found in Padstow, Cornwall. If you want to see where it all started, the restaurant is also offering a special menu to celebrate its 50th birthday. Rick’s son, Jack, has helped put the menu together. He explains: “I loved putting this 50th menu together with dad. It has been a real walk down memory lane to choose our best dishes from the last five decades”.
In 1571, the Royal Exchange was opened by Queen Elizabeth I, who gave the venue its name. In 1844, it was rebuilt and reopened by Queen Victoria. Fortnum & Mason is a timeless British dining spot, known for its retail section and afternoon tea. With Rick Stein at Fortnum & Mason, guests can enjoy the seafood menu, from oyster towers to seafood platters.
