The cult Paris café is heading to King’s Cross for an eight-week residency.
Parisian café PaperBoy is heading to The Standard in London for a spring residency that blends food, music and community in one of King’s Cross’ buzziest addresses. Taking over Double Standard from 24 April to 7 June 2026, the pop-up will run for eight weeks and promises a taste of the French capital with a London twist.
For those unfamiliar, PaperBoy has built a loyal following in Paris thanks to its laid-back energy, creative collaborations and seriously good sandwiches. What started as a neighbourhood concept has grown into a name recognised by both local creatives and in-the-know visitors, while retaining its original community-driven spirit. Founded by James Dridi, the café was created with the aim of reviving the feel of the 1990s and shaping a space for people to gather.
At Double Standard, guests can expect a line-up of PaperBoy favourites alongside a limited-edition collaboration menu created specifically for the London residency. Signature items from the Paris outpost include the Fried Fish Bun with white sauce, a Fried Chicken Roll and a Tuna Tataki Sandwich layered with cabbage, spicy mayo and bulldog sauce. Breakfast has also long been part of PaperBoy’s appeal, so dishes such as an Eggs Benedict Bun and Omelette Bun are likely to join the line-up, alongside a selection of fish and meat plates.
The residency is about more than sandwiches, too. On Friday, 1 May 2026, PaperBoy will team up with Rinse FM for a one-night event from 7pm to 11pm. Curated by Rinse FM founder Manaré, the evening will feature sets from Esk and Jamo Beatz, bringing a club-ready soundtrack to the King’s Cross hotel.
PaperBoy’s ongoing link-up with New Balance will also continue in London through a Sunday morning run club series hosted with Run the Boroughs. Taking place on 10 May, 31 May and 7 June, the runs are free to join and will be followed by a PaperBoy-inspired brunch. New merchandise is also expected to land as part of the collaboration.
