Located in Kingly Court, it showcases food from Northern Spain.

Carnaby Street is famous for its fashion, food and the Swinging Sixties. Now, it is set to welcome the new Spanish restaurant, Alta. Located in Kingly Court, it will open in the summer, and showcase fire cooking and food from Northern Spain.

Alta restaurant has been created by the chef Rob Roy Cameron. Born in Botswana, he had a passion for food and worked in restaurants around the world. His previous projects include Gazelle in Mayfair and Untitled in Dalston. He also worked at Albert Adria’s legendary restaurant in Barcelona, El Bulli. The concept was famous for innovative dishes, and was labelled one of the best restaurants in the world by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

In Spanish, the name Alta translates to high. The venue will span two floors and include a private dining room and outdoor heated terrace. Drawing inspiration from the Basque region, it will showcase high-quality British ingredients. The produce comes from Ledbury chef Brett Graham's Shropshire farm, and Good Earth Growers in Cornwall.

The full food and drink menu for Alta has not yet been unveiled. So far, we know that the dishes include Chocolate mousse with smoked olive oil meringue, Homemade txistorra and onion cider jus, and Romesco, razor clams in white escabeche.

The drinks list will be carefully curated by Dino Koletsas. He previously worked as the General Manager at Inception Group and Operations Manager at Harrods. Now, he is the Head of Beverage at Mad Restaurants.
