Chef Dom Taylor has created a cool Caribbean concept.

Chef Dom Taylor has made a name for himself on and offscreen. The winner of Channel Four’s Five Star Chef was behind The Good Front Room in The Langham Hotel in London. Now, he is opening the Caribbean concept, Marvee’s Food Shop. Located in Ladbroke Grove, it draws inspiration from classic takeaways in the community.

Marvee’s Food Shop is open for lunch and dinner, and the menu spans mains, sides and desserts. The menu is designed for sharing, and showcases Caribbean ingredients. The dishes are rooted in comfort food, and the taste of home.

Mains include Boneless Curry Goat with coconut, Escovitch Fish with sweet sauce, and Jerk Chicken with plantain jam. Plus, there are a range of sauces, which can be added. Desserts include Old Skool Cake and Custard, and Roasted Plantain with molasses soft serve.

Dom explains: “Named after my mother, Marveline, affectionately known as Marvee, this concept is rooted in family, memory and pride. It’s a celebration of Caribbean culture, flavour and heritage, brought to life through food that surprises as much as it comforts”.

Marvee’s Food Shop boasts a vibrant design with eye-catching colours. The visual artist, Yvadney Davis, is behind the décor from the acrylic layering to colourful wallpaper. The space aims to connect to the Caribbean, from the heritage to homes.

Marvee’s Food Shop is open from Wednesday to Saturday, from midday to 2.30pm and 5pm to 11pm, on Sunday from midday to 2.30pm and 5pm to 10pm.
