Located in Hackney, Logma celebrates Middle Eastern marvels.
After winning the hearts and stomachs of Londoners, the much-loved supper club Logma is opening its very own restaurant. Located in Hackney, the new concept is called Logma Cafe Bistro. Currently in its soft opening phase, here’s what to expect.
Farsin Rabiee and Ziad Halub created the concept because they were frustrated by the lack of Iranian and Iraqi food in London. The Logma supper club has been running for over a year and has built a loyal following along the way.
On 21 December, Logma Cafe Bistro opened its doors to celebrate Yalda, the longest night of the year. The café draws heavily on nostalgia, taking inspiration from old-school French bistros that emerged across the Middle East in the early 20th century. At its heart, the café is centred on warmth, generosity and the feeling of being welcomed into someone’s home.
Logma Cafe Bistro serves a seasonal menu that champions local and organic produce where possible. While the menu will evolve, regular dishes include kofte and aubergine sandwiches, alongside fesenjan, kofta pita and tahini buns. Guests can also look forward to morning pastries and comforting stews served with saffron rice, as well as proper Middle Eastern coffee and tea.
The pair stated: "It’s been a wild ride. We never expected that our small idea a year ago would grow into this incredible journey, where we have been able to host this wonderful community of people for some delicious Iranian and Iraqi food. None of this would have been possible without your support, and the support of beloved friends who rolled their sleeves up to help and promote."
If you miss the supper club experience, fret not. One evening a week, the bistro stays open late to serve a set menu inspired by the original supper club.
Logma Cafe Bistro is open daily.
