Ivan Ramen will be located in Farringdon.

Ramen fans, get ready to get stuck in. Ivan Orkin is the ultimate ramen fan and is bringing that passion to London. On 18 November, he will open his first-ever restaurant, Ivan Ramen, in Farringdon. If you’re looking for a new spot to dine, then put this on your restaurant radar.

Born in New York, Ivan moved to Japan in the 1980s. He is passionate about perfecting bowls of ramen. In 2017, he appeared on the Netflix TV show Chef’s Table, which offered viewers a behind-the-scenes look at kitchens run by acclaimed international chefs. People got to see how Ivan operated in New York and learn more about the man himself.

Ivan is no stranger to London. In 2023, he opened a pop-up restaurant. Now, in 2025, he has opened a permanent restaurant. Meanwhile, the venue will be small, seating up to 26 guests, and at its heart will be his renowned ramen.

On Instagram, he shared a video that teased viewers about the concept. The clip showed him writing a note in a restaurant, which flew between the streets of New York and Tokyo. The paper then lands in London, and a shot of Big Ben follows.

Dishes will include Chicken Paitan, Spicy Miso Ramen and a newly created Salt Beef Bao. The bao dish draws inspiration from the flavours of a classic East End bagel. Meanwhile, the dish includes warm salt beef, pickled cucumbers, and fiery karashi mustard mayo.

Ivan explained: ‘What an incredible honour to share our food in three of the world’s most iconic cities. London isn’t just a world-class restaurant destination. It is home to one of the most exciting ramen scenes anywhere. I’ve always loved this city, and I’m beyond thrilled to finally be a part of it”.
