Brad Carter and Tom Brown are behind Island in London.

King’s Cross has fast become a dining destination. Now, the new restaurant, Island, is set to open in Mare Street Market. The chefs Brad Carter and Tom Brown have teamed up to create the concept, which celebrates the land and sea. Scheduled to open in June, here’s what to expect from the surf and turf experience, Island in London.

Brad Carter and Tom Brown have both worked in MICHELIN-starred restaurants. The pair previously collaborated on Carters of Moseley, which is located in Birmingham. Now, they are bringing their expertise to King’s Cross.

Island in London draws inspiration from the islands that make up the United Kingdom. The chefs have reflected on their travels together, and their passion for British produce. The pair pride themselves on using fine, fresh and seasonal ingredients. Highlights include organic meats and wild fish.

Island in London’s menu will include a meat and seafood charcuterie with trout pastrami, monkfish cheek ham and lardo. Dishes include Lobster Rolls, Mixed Grills and a Sunday Toast. Plus, an Oyster Caesar Salad, Quail Stuffed with Prawn Paella and Chocolate Fudge Cake.

Mare Street Market is home to a range of cafés, restaurants and shops. Spanning more than 18,000 square feet, it spans three floors. The space runs from Lewis Cubitt Square to Coal Drops Yard and Stable Street. The venues include Bar & Kitchen, Plantfull, Nobody’s Business, Tattoo, and Voices Radio.

Island in London will be open from Tuesday to Wednesday from 5.30pm to 11pm, Thursday to Saturday from noon to 11pm, and Sunday from noon to 5pm.
