Get ready for a taste of Saudi Arabia in London. Diwan Kitchen has opened on Holloway Road in North London. The café brings to life the flavours of the Kingdom with a range of traditional dishes.
On the opening day, Diwan Kitchen had green and white balloons outside, which reflected the Saudi Arabian flag. At the top of the venue, the name of the restaurant is written in Arabic and English. The tagline reads: “The taste of Saudi”.

When you step inside Diwan Kitchen, it feels like you are in a café in the Kingdom. The décor is inspired by Nadj architecture, and boasts beiges and browns. Take your pick from leather seats or cushions on the floor, and the space includes red and patterned rugs.
Every dish is a tribute to Saudi Arabia. The menu spans breakfast, mains, street specialities, sides and desserts. Plus, on the menu it tells you where the dish has come from, for example if it’s a speciality in Makkah.

Breakfast dishes at Diwan Kitchen in London include Fatirah with Honey and Cream, Foul Medammas, and Shakshuka. Main dishes include Kabsa with chicken or lamb, Mandi with chicken or lamb and Saleeg. Street dishes include Areekah with dates and honey, Motabaq with cheese, meat or vegetables, and Marsah with mashed banana.
No trip to a Saudi Arabian café is complete without coffee and cake. The desserts include Kaket Tamer, Muhalla wheat pudding, and Najdi Date Cake. The drinks range from Arabic Coffee to Chai Adani.
